I am going to be getting rid of my airpump.

I understand that i need to purchase 2 pulley's and 1 belt.

I currently have A/C and would like to keep it in the car.

When doing the Airpump elimination will I be able to keep the A/C?


I see alot of cars thta do this mod and Im not sure if they have A/C still or not.

When getting rid of the airpump is there any way of getting around the shitty idle the car will have with the stock ECU ?

Couldnt you just cut a bit or a wire on the stock harness so the airpump is bypassed ?

Reason I am asking is because I am going to replace some belts and I wanted to get rid of the airpump at the same time ..

I will be getting a POwer FC within the near future but I may have to drive my car for about a month with out an airpump before i get my power fc...

Any tricks or tips to keep the car running smooth without the airpump until i replace stock ECU?

 

Why don't you just go with this new part that a member has fabed and is offering a group by on it.

They have fabed up a bracket with pulley the will get rid of the Air Pump leaving just a pulley in its place that can retain the stock belt.
Seems like the easiest solution to me in getting ride of the Air Pump.

my car seemed to idle fine after removing the airpump, i dont think it will be anything unbearable for a month. just unplug the airpump relay and see how it runs, if its tolerable for you, then remove it.

 

I removed my air pump, disconnected the relay and it idled just fine. I don't have the pulleys, got a four rib smaller belt (forgot what size) and slotted my alternator tensioner bracket to get an additional 3/8 inch more of play.

It should work for you.

 

Use the FSM and adjust the idle until it's smooth.
