General Question

Theres something about my car that's been kinda irritating me for a while now.

When you guys are cruising along, foot off the gas, foot off the clutch, and then you get on the gas, even slightly, what does your car do? My car jolts everytime I get back on the gas, without slipping the clutch. It's annoying, and makes for a very unsmooth ride. Other cars that I drive do that, but not as violently.

Do all the rest of your FDs do this?

No.

But the torque reaction strut brace might help prevent it. How are your engine mounts?

Kinda sounds like a TPS problem.

yeah I had it but I dialled it out with an aftermarket ECU. Try the TPS that'd be my first guess. You have to expect some jolt though. These cars are built to respond to throttle quickly, no clutch slip, no momentary soft timing, just power surge.

Well, it isn't a power surge...
it almost feels like the clutch isn't fully engaged, but then when I get on the throttle, it engages fully.

Sort of a jolt forward, and then it stops and goes back to normal acceleration. it's really hard to explain I guess. Oh well..maybe I'll just sell it.

hey martini, you're really crap at explaining things

The only other thing I could think of was the double throttle actuator. Make sure that works. If you've bypassed it, lock/wire it closed and test it then.

Your explanation does suck though. If your clutch wasn't fully engaged, when you got back on the throttle, the revs would just spin up then down. Plenty of cars I've had buck really bad with extremely light throttle openings. It's no coincidence that all of these cars were sports cars (more aggressive tuning) and had clutches with high clamping force.

Anyway, buy an rx-8 they've got twin electronic throttles. Problem solved.

Mine does that too....but i tuned it out with my foot. If I am in a lower gear at lower RPM, it's more noticeable, i can see the shifter bounce a little bit. But i've gotten used to it.
