gear engagement prob?

Hey guys,

Anyone ever have a problem where the car would not go into gear? I started my car up yesterday... and tried to put the car into gear to get out of my garage. But couldnt get the shifter to go into gear... any gear. Pumped the clutch pedal a few times to perhaps see if it wasn't working, but couldnt get the car into gear at all.

I turned it off. With the car off, the shifter went in fine. Turned the car back on.. and everything was normal.

wth?

I've had the issue before, but usually just taking my foot completely off of the clutch pedal, then depressing it again works for me.

Never had the problem after pumping the pedal though. I guess as long as it works now your all good.

I have an occasional problem when trying to shift into reverse. I usually have to go through all of the gears once or twice before it finds the right "cog."

ok. It is fine... and was fine for the rest of the day. Just wanted to see if it was something I should be concerned about in the future.. would have to have the car refuse to shift while i'm moving.. ya know?

That would certainly be an issue. lol It's only ever happened to me just like you described, immediately after startup.
