Unhappy Gauges Stoped Working

I'm new to this board so please bare with me. I just recently installed the SRMotorsport Radiator (2.1")
I had not installed my new intercooler .. so the old intercooler was resting a top one of my fans .. when the fan turned on it burned my motor and blew 2 fuses .. the Meters Fuse in the passanger compartment and the coolant fan fuse in the engine compartment .. I replaced both but I continue to blow the Meter Fuse so my gauges don't work. Does anyone have any ideas? Am I in the correct forum. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks , Ebroham

Usually even if you blew a fuse or fuses, it is likely that you may have blowncicuit in one of the gauges or meters . When this happens you will continue to blow fuses untill you replace the gauge or meter that is shorted out . As an example i have been working in car audio installs for four years now and I always see people blow there cd players by hooking up jumper cables in the reverse order (+ on - , - on +). It not only blows all the fuses in its path but it also blows the unit on the other end that the fuses are suppsoed to be protecting . Hope you find the problem .

before you replace guages check wireingloom by fanrelays on top of right fender in engine bay there should be 4 relays check that harness good they also burn with the fans it is very common when fans go out

Yes .. That harness is toast ... 3 relays are still good but one is smoked bad. It toasted from what I can tell right now the upper part of that harness but I don't know How large that harness is just yet .... I suppose that harness being set ablaze and all could take out my meter fuse ... it looks as if I have to buy that harness, one relay and the fans... Are there any lower profile fans on the market? Thanks for your help thus far.

most aftermarket fans are not as good as the stock fans. (cfm, etc.) so you may be able to find slim fans but you are going to loose what you just put in your radiator for, IMO.
