Heya guys, i ve got a slight exhaust leak prob on my cheap man HT18 single turbo, its only a slight leak but enough to annoy the hell outa me so i was wandering if theres any gasket sealant product i could smear on? The leaks about an inch long. I ve looked around some shops and no one has yet to suggest anything that ll withstand the red hot glowing heat that the turbine puts out.

If you can see it.. I would have someone weld it!

Otherwise I would give JB weld a crack.. Cant think of anything that could take higher temps! Just get the surface CLEAN first

Cheers man, its easy take out but just over x mas everyones closed so i just sort of wanted something temporary. Is there another name for this "JB weld"? i m from new zealand so i wouldnt know what its called here.

JB weld should still be JB weld. I don't see why the name would change.
So these leaks ... are they at a flanged area??? or is it an actual crack on the pipes?
If it is on a flange, I would not suggest sealing it. If it is on the pipes, you can purchase manifold repair stuff from a local hardware store.

Near a turbo, no sealant product will handle the temps. Plus it's nearly impossible to seal any leak from the outside.

I don't have the specs on JB weld in front of me, but I don't think it's a high temp product. Anything with less than 1000F temp limit is probably not going to work for long.

You can take it apart, clean the surfaces, chase the flange bolt threads and add anti-seize, and reassemble - that's probably the best thing to start with.

The leaks is about 1 inch long (from the flange). I had a feeling there was gonna be nothing in a form of liquid sealant that could fix it Well i guess when the workshop opens up again after new years i could take it in to get the thing welded, thanks.
