Gas additives?

Ive been running an octane booster in my car pretty much every tank and I was wondering what you're thoughts on it is, and should I be more concerned now that theres ethanol mixed into the gas already?

Less ethanol? I thought they are mixing more ethanol..

I am a strong believer that octane boosters do absolutely nothing..

Do some reading on it. The octane boosters that claim to increase by one point are actually only 0.1 points on the regular octane scale.

I think it's acetone that's a semi-effective booster and that gets pretty expensive fast.

Just buy the right gas.

Dead on correct. "Octane Boosters" are a waste of money. You are spending $4 - $6 per bottle on something that is going to make your 87 octane gas be....87.4.
And there isn't any gas being commercially sold that is more than 15% ethanol, most of it is 10%, until you get into the nearly pure ethanol fuels like E85, which is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline.
Once again, just run 91 - 93 octane premium. Sounds like you are trying to run the 89 octane mid-grade that has the 10% ethanol, that is the same price as 87 octane...? Most premium fuel does NOT have ANY ethanol in it. I think they are required by law to list this, though some stations have VERY fine print in obscure places that show this...lol!

I d run 93 octane in my car the octane booster also helps to clean the injectors and stuff. I was asking about the ethanol because last time I got gas there was a little note that said there was 10% ethanol added for the summer time.

Use toulene aka paint thinner. Also, lose your cat.

Does octane booster clean your injectors and stuff? How does it do this?

I figure if i'm going to pay $6 -7 dollars for a octane booster I reather find a gas station that sales 100+ octane and that will get you a gallon. they have a gas station around here that sales that!! I think a 1 gallon of 100 octane will do wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than a a little bot of octane booster!! just my

I gallon of 100 octane added to 18 gallons of 91 octane would yield..91.5 octane if my math is right. 9 gallons of 100 + 9 gallons of 91 would yield 95.5 octane.
I think. Someone check me.

is a clear, water-insoluble liquid with the typical smell of paint thinners..

I mixed that once on my MR2 turbo
