13 9/16 for me too. I was thinking of telling him 13 5/8, but I don't know if I could live up to having the biggest torque brace around!

Anyways, I am stuck on drilling for the polynuts, without removing the ABS. I went to Loews, and picked up a right angle drill adapter made by "American" but it was too big. I found a tiny countersink drill but, but I am at an impasse. So I just mounted the plate with the two screws, and called David with the measurement.

Hmm I should probably turn it around. I was asking for 13 9/16. I'll see how it fits when it arrives.

Has anyone run the brace with just the 2 screws, and then later gone ahead and drilled the holes and used all 6? If so, can you tell the difference? I too am stuck and can't figure out how to drill the damn holes without taking out the ABS and I just put new fluid etc a week ago and don't want to go through all that crap again. I have a right angle drill but it's just too damn big, even if I use a 3" bit. Ugh. Anyone?

if you dont put those other screws in you will upset the balance of the plate that mounts to the fender wall. look at the mount for the bar. its majority is on the upper end of the plate. the plate will rock and eventually pull out of those tiny screw holes. do it right and youll be fine. the poly nuts will hold very well. . . and bleeding the breaks isnt that hard.

If you need a shorter drill bit and do not know how to cut one, call David and see if he will send you one . Please do not install it incorrectly and then complain latter about the holes that pulled out of the fender ect,ect . The ABS will come out in minutes and rebleading takes only about 30 minutes . Do it right and be happy . Do it wrong and no one wants to hear about it . iF you need help just call David ,he wants you to be satisfied . Do it correctly and you will enjoy the good feeling, if you wish just send it back no problem . Good skill to you .

I used a small 90 degree dye grinder with one of thoes step drill bits to do mine. Didnt need to take out the ABS. However i already had the grinder so I lucked out. I would have taken off the abs if need be.

Ok thanks for the encouragement people. I now have 3 out of the 4 holes drilled, I just can't get to the bottom middle hole due to the $#@@! black box on the ABS unit. I'm going to try a flex shaft attachment for my drill tomorrow and hopefully that will work. At this point I will REALLY be pissed if I have to remove the ABS just to get to this one hole. If it comes to that I may just not do it. At this point I will have 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom so if I'm just missing the middle one on the bottom I can't imagine that would make a difference. Yes? No?

If anyone needs the drill bit already cut to the appropriate length, PM me and I'll send it out to you for the cost of shipping. I used it on mine with a 90 degree angle head drill. All I ask is that you send it back to me.

What kind of angle drill did you use?? There is only like 4 inches between the fender and the black box on the passenger side of the abs unit. I have the smallest right angle drill I have ever seen, but once you put a shorty bit in there it just doesn't fit. I have the small yellow Dewalt right angle drill, and I have never seen a smaller one. How the heck did you do it??

The new design does not use the polly nuts .A threaded steel plate is put behind the finder .They will be ready as soon as the directions are finished .

Yes you still need to drill four holes 5/16 dia .Remove the inner wheel plastic liner and put the plate in place, bolt the outer bracket on .This design is easer for most people .The polly nuts were good for those who are better with their hands .
