FYI: OEMS turn signals vs Makotrends

Here is a comparison of the OEM turn signals vs the immitation Makotrends

VS

Notice the housing is rounder on the OEM's and the edges designs have contours.

I will have 99' Spec taillight comparisons up soon.

what you have to add to that comparison is the cost of each. That makes a big difference in a lot of peoples decision. Thanks for posting the pics, nice to see the comparo..more similar than I thought.

Sorry, I mis-understood. I thought that this company Makoto was producing reproduction 99 tail lights as well.

I'm still planning on doing the conversion myself instead of dishing out $450 for OEM's.

Yes, the top ones are oem while the lower pics are the mako knock offs. You cant really tell the difference from far away unless you like looking at that much detail. But the mako knock offs are well worth the money since they don't need an adapter harness either. I got those when they first started producing them. I have a post up somewhere on here explaining them when I first purchased the set from mako. They are very nice quality and haven't let me down yet. Again well worth the money so they really aren't cheaply made either.

EDIT: haha I just noticed that the pics of the mako lights at top post are the ones I orginally posted a long time ago.....those are mine, lol! Kinda funny to me sorry...

I did leave out an important part...PRICE!

Only thing I don't like about the Mako's is the housings don't appear rounded as the OEM...But im considering getting the Smoked Mako's which should hide the differences abit more.

$410 VS $180 is something to consider!

Just adding my bits to the Forums.
