is it f'd?

please can you help me? i have a 93rx7 and i had an oil leak coming from the main pulley so i was going to take it to get the seal changed.now this is the wierd thing when i started it the next day the gears wouldnt go in .i managed to squeese 1st in and there was a bad sqeeking noise comeing from under.my mechanic took the clutch off and found the pressure plate damaged.now this is were i realy need your help there isnt any rotary specialists were i am .my mechanic said that the crankshaft plate is very loose it plays in and out .is it ment to be like this but he doesnt know?or is there a seriouse problem in the engine?does anyone know the clearances of the crankshaft? thank you for helping.

Check out Mazdatrix's warning about the big bolt in the crank pulley. If you changed that seal you probably shifted the crank & unseated the bearing. Bummer

I would have your mechanic give them a call to clarify, but I think the damage is done. sorry.
