Tim
Pouring ATF into my intake just doesnt sound right... does that really work? i dont think id ever try it.

I'd be asking too much for my fd... i still owe money on it... so i'd have to sell it for what i owe... between $7,000 - $8,000

I want to double check im removing the correct fuses...

When i try to deflood i remove the EGI relay inside the engine compartment fuse box... and i also remove the fuel pump fuse inside the drivers kick panel. are those the two correct fuses?

You pour a small amount, maybe a in there, maybe a few table spoons. It get sucked in and should help get it started.

i think He was referring to the to the fuel pump relay...
it is a box thing that is by the engine...
it is sorta near the top of the drivers side of the engine bay...
or at least that's where it is on my 2nd gen....

When you flood the engine, the fuel dilutes/washes away the oil that is naturally on the apex/side seals, thus lowering your compression ratio and making it hard to start. The ATF or Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) coats the inside of the chambers to help get your compression up.

I typically squirt the MMO into the spark plug holes, put in the plugs, and then crank the engine a few times WITHOUT the EGI fuse in (and with the gas pedal all the way in to stop the flow of fuel). Afterwards, take out the plugs again, clean them, replace back into the engine, reinstall EGI fuse, the crank away. It'll smoke for a bit once it starts but that's all there is to it.

Hi, i just got done last week doin the same install myself. I installed the Greddy Airnix intake, Bonez DP, high flow cat, and RB exhaust. The ground strap was not attached before my install and i found out through searching and making some phone calls that it does not need to be attached( no one seems to know the purpose of the ground strap so if anybody knows i would like to know for personal knowledge). The ground strap is not attached right now and the car starts and runs fine without it. Also at one point i was able to start the car without the high flow cat and exhaust attached for testing purposes. Hope this helps in ruling out your whole exhaust system as the possible culprit to your problem.
