Fueling Problem
First off the engine died on low revs and wouldnt start again...
The car had been driven for about half an hour at 60mph and was at working temperature.
- tried putting oil into each rotor (20cc), thinking it had flooded. This didn't work.
- next tried 10cc of petrol per rotor. Fired but wouldn't catch.
At this point gave up and towed the car home for some research and more troubleshooting.
- Bridging the F/T and GND ports in the diagnostics connector, proved the pump would run. It would also start and run the engine like this. It was allowed come up to temperature before being turned off. No attempt was made to move the car at this stage.
- After switching off the engine and removing the connector bridge a further attempt to start it was made. Again it fired but wouldn't catch. I also couldn't hear the fuel pump priming when the ignition switch was in the "on" position.
- The diagnostics manual suggests checking continuity between pins A&B on the fuel pump connector. It failed this check.
Any suggestions much appreciated.....
What part of the circuit is the diagnostics connector bypassing when I bridge the F/T and GND ports?

Just to put this to bed incase anyone was wondering on this....
It turned out that the loom being rubbed by the lhs front wheel was started to wear... the wheel was rubbing and had sliced throught the wire to the fuel pump!
That explains why it died on full lock!
Thankfully only a little niggly issue!!
