Fuel tank pressure?
Fuel tank pressure?
Yesterday I went for a little cruise after I sat my car for a month. Unluckily the check engine light came on and interrupted it. I stopped and parked at a gas station to check all of the fluids etc. When I found that everything was at the appropriate level and the temperature was where I wanted it to be, I started my car and saw the check engine light flashing again. It eventually stopped when I steadily drove back home and pulled it in the garage. As I walked out of car while the car was still running, I smelled fuel from the fuel tank area. I opened it to release some pressure that had been in the tank. Looked again at the check engine light and it wasn't on anymore. I then proceeded to take the car around the block to see if it would come on again and it didn't. Did I fix the problem or would it come on again? I know I should examine it by the engine light codes but would like to ask your opinion during this time. Has anyone had this problem? I apologize for the long write up. Nevertheless I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thanks,
Erick
