Fuel System for 450rwhp

Just as the subject says... what's the best parts, in your opinion, for a fuel system to support at MAXIMUM of 450rwhp? I did a search and didn't turn up anything useful...

Bosch pump for the 993TT..
RRFPR
1200 cc secondaries (other option would be 1600cc but you need fuel rail)

maybe larger fuel lines also....

What Bosch pump are you talking about, FROM the 993TT? Which of the RRFPR's are considered the best? Also, 1200 secondaries will fit with the stock fuel rail? Also, who makes fuel rails for the FD besides RX7.com?

www.k2rd.com has rails for the 1600 secondaries

sx makes godr regulators..but personally ill be running a areomotive rrfpr

just remember youll need a stand alone egine managment for the larger injectors..if you use the 1600's youll need to get a resistor to run them with a pfc, haltec it dosnet matter

That's a hell of a lot of hp...how much boost do you plan on running, and on what turbo setup?

Dave at KD Rotary told me that an OEM Supra TT fuel pump is the largest that will fit in the stock location...I'm pretty sure it's the same one RP uses and they claim it's good to about 500rwhp, if memory serves me.

I'm running RC Eng. bored out 1300cc secondaries, but I think for 450rwhp power level you'll have to go with 1600s. Go to rx7.com and link to the fuel section. You'll see a link for a third gen fuel calculator which has served me well in the past. That'll tell you what you need to know as far as injectors are concerned.

I'll only be running the stock turbos or upgraded twins for a while, that's why I said a maximum of 450. I'm actually aiming at 350 but plan to shoot for 450 later on a different setup (small single) so I want to get the whole system done in one shot.

According to the fuel calculator on rx7.com it says that you will need 1600 and 550 running at 80% duty cycle... thats just for 519hp....

Thanks, I guess I'll just go with the RX7.com setup then. They provide everything in a nice, tidy kit. Has anyone got their setup?

Ther is no FUEL PUMP on your list - Dosen't RP's setup include the PUMP TOO?

Nice post. I'm looking to do the Stage 3 BNR upgrades, but I'm looking to make 400rwhp. This is a great tread for added info.

I'd go with a Bosch pump or duel FD or Walbro pumps. Then 1600cc injectors and rail. And a SX or Aeromotive FPR. No need for a RRFPR. And since your spending all this money on a fuel system, I'd go with new lines and all A/N fittings. It might be a lot of work, but it's worth it.

Don't buy an RRFPR!

You don't need one with properly sized injectors and a programmable engine management system. It will only introduce unwelcome variability without giving you any useful adjustability.

That said, I think the "RRFPR" mentions on this thread really mean an adjustable regulator (1:1 rise rate) and not an RRFPR. These are two very different things. I do recommend getting an adjustable regulator.

For 450 RWHP, you probably want:
- big fuel pump
- secondary fuel rail with "1600" injectors (note: you must remove ACV to run this)
- adjustable FPR
- programmable engine management (PowerFC, AEM, Haltech) because you cannot run big injectors with the stock ECU, S-AFC, chipped ECU, etc.

If you need to keep the ACV:
- big fuel pump
- have RC engineering enlarge your injectors from 550/850 to 850/1300
- adjustable FPR (optional, but recommended)
- programmable engine management

-Max

damn dave... you dug this up from the depths... lol!
i use an aeromotive A1000 pump and run 82LB/160LB injectors on custom fuel rails. i redid my entire fuel system cost me about $1200-1300 all together not including haltech. it may have been less, but i changed some things around a few times and those damn AN fittings are not cheap.
