You can also pick up some bulkhead connectors that allows you to run thicker gauge wire to these higher output aftermarket fuel pumps.

if you need pics after my description you need to step away from your car and tow it to a shop.

on the difficulty scale of 1 to 10 this is about a 1.5 job, right next to changing brake pads.

there is absolutely no point in making a write up on something if your just going to delete the pictures off photobucket and make the thread pointless

Replaced the fuel pump today. It indeed was very easy.
Only had to modify 2 things to replace the stock pump with the Walbro:
- clip off the original wire loom, and crimp the new connector onto it
- saw the connection off the metal tube, and place the fuel line that came with the pump onto it with a hoseclamp

Took me about an hour all in. Then turned the key and nothing... battery was low on power from trying to start her en few days ago LOL. So in came my 800cc daily beater and some jumpleads.
After 10 minutes tried again and with a huge cloud of smoke the Rex coughed back to life.
Took the Rex for a drive to recharge the battery, and she drives fine again, no fuel smell in the car at all, so sealed it up good again.

Thanks everyone for the help!!!

Yes, the Walbro came packed with 4 inches of submersible fuel line, and hose clamps to fix the line to the pipe and pump.

Here is a thread with some good pics and sources for some of the parts, not a DIY but a good resource.

Sorry for reviving this thread,
I was pretty happy to find it, but the photos have disappeared... anyone still have them, by any chance?
