fuel pump with stock ecu question....

I am looking at getting ecu once i get tax return...yes finally!
with my mods so far no probs most its spiking is 12psi, cold nights i stay off the gas because it jumps high!!

i but for now i am lookin at getting a better flowing fuel pump for now with my stock ecu would it cause any probs and run fine or will it cause errors? i thinkin might as well get it now and bolt on cause i will need to in the future.....i know it will not make boosting safe due to stock ecu because i need that to control air fuel to not run lean but just wanting to know if any ill effects on putting it on now......

Your thinking is correct. You will have no problems with running a new pump now, it's just good to plan ahead.

i don't believe you need a new fuel pump unless you upgrade injectors. read this page carefully and it could save you some money for the time being.

I've heard some of the tuners have had problems with Walbro pumps failing early. The Nippon Denso pump (Cosmo style pump, I believe) will work great for you, as it is a drop-in replacement. You can get it from the rx7 store or rx7.com for pretty cheap.
