Replacing stock pump with Denso pump from KG Parts. Stock pump has small plastic tab on bottom of intake filter. This will not attach to Denso intake filter.
Is this tab necessary?

They do not even show this tab on the '93 Work Shop Manual fuel system schematic.

 

Nope, dont need it, its part of that filter, just replace with the filter that it comes with.
