Fuel Pump Install Questions
I'm trying to install a RP Competition Fuel Pump which I believe is just a Denso that they sell. I've done some searching, but I haven't been been able to find the answer to these questions:
I'm grateful for any help!
- What is the correct order for the fuel pump o-ring and spacer? Does it go fuel pump -> o-ring -> spacer -> fuel feed hardline?
- How do you oreient the plastic spacer? Does the smaller end face the fuel feed hard line or the fuel pump?
- I've installed the fuel pump as described above (fuel pump -> o-ring -> spacer (small end facing feed line) -> feed line, but I am only seeing 17PSI of fuel pressure when the FP and GND connectors and jumped (I've messed with the regulator, but it still caps out at 17PSI). I've added an additional chassis ground for the fuel pump and I measured roughly 13V between the positive and negative fuel pump wires with the jumped connector and the car on (not running). The battery has been charged via a cheap batter charger, so it is probably not fully charged (PowerFC shows 10.5V for battery voltage). Any troubleshooting steps? I'm trying to figure out if this is a fuel pump install issue, a fuel pump issue, a wiring issue, or if it's normal behavior and the fuel pressure will be higher when the car is running.
I'm grateful for any help!
