fuel pulsation dampaner

Does anyone know if the fuel pulsation dampaner is really needed. I mean since it leaks often, i was think about pull it out of the car while i changed my fuel lines. would it have any effect on engine performance?

A number of 3rd gen owners have recently speculated whether the removal of the Fuel Pulsation Dampener would have any effects (positive or negative) on the engine. Silvr94R2 has just recently put himself up as guinea pig and removed the part altogether. Ask him to see if things are going well so far.

Damn if I knew you didn't need one I would have saved myself $150 a while ago. Oh well, car runs good.
