fuel line - primary to sec HELP
fuel line - primary to sec HELP
I ve seen many a post about engine fires and fuel leaks. Mazda claims that the fuel line recall was done on my car. However I am leaking a massive amount of fuel. There is a puddle on top of the engine right now. I have already replaced:
fuel dampener
all inj o-rings
all inj insulators
fuel lines from/to rails
IT STILL LEAKS
Im thinking it has to be the fuel line from the primary distributer to the secondary rail OR the primary injectors themselves(they do have a lot of miles)
What confuses me is the line I have (pic below) is very different from the parts fiche because the one in the fiche has what appears to be spring clamps (part number 13-157A). The ones I have are like crimped clamps. Can anyone very/deny that I have post recall (or even the proper type) fuel line in this location?

You may know this already, but if you jump the GRD and F/P terminals in the diagnostic box and turn the key to 'on', your fuel pump will run constantly. You can do this with the UIM and whatever other crap removed to check for fuel leaks. Since your leak is so bad, it should be easy to see where it's coming from.
So at least one other person with the same hose.
Actually the tops of the primaries look pretty bad. Sort of like somebody used vice grips on the metal part. I guess 250 for two new ones is cheaper than 2500 for an engine ---- or worse
Paw, thanks for reminding me. Ill surely test it like that before completely torqueing it all back down.
Anybody else have this "style" connector hose, of course Im not even sure if there is another style just trying to find out.

To my understanding the crimp style hose in your picture is the updated version. I had a small engine fire a few months ago due to this exact hose. Mine sprung a leak in the rubber right at the bend; with the fuel pump on it would dump fuel all over the top of the motor. I had the updated part as well.
Do as the others have suggested and run the fuel pump by jumping the terminals, your leak will be obvious.

One of the primary injectors was leaking, not the seal but the injector itself up through the top of the body. As others have said, remove the upper intake and ACV and then jump the GND and FP pin (I'm not sure if it is labeled FP) and the fuel pump will come on. You will be able to see your leak at this point.
