UPDATE: so I took the fuel needle off, came off easily, and reseat it to full. I also filled the tank to full so I have a good starting point. It has been one day of driving so far and have not noticed it moved yet, but its reading full a bit above the "F" line. So it looks right at the moment, just need to make sure it does decrease as I use the fuel up. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for all the help, truly appreciate all the Rotory fans helping out. You don't get this support with high end cars I've had.

It does take a bit for the needle to start to drop when you have it full to the top, that's normal. There's some gas in the fill tube and at the very top of the tank that takes a while to go through.

Hopefully that does the trick!

Ok good news it started dropping a bit after putting another 30-40 miles on it. Thanks for the idea on reinstalling the needle!

It looks like you have the issue resolved though. But if you wanted to reach out about the calibration of the spedo and odo, I'm sure he can help. I was very happy.

Just want to update this post so future members know what was done to fix it. So all I did was remove the gas gauge needle to reseat it to the full position after I filled it up with gas. Drove it till the gauge showed it was at half tank, went to fill gas up and it took 11 gallons. So I think its on the money and its all fixed just by reseating the needle. Thanks for the help and advice everyone!
