Fuel filter...should I wait until after my 400 mile drive?

The last time I changed my fuel filter was around 25000 miles ago, or probably 3-4 years ago (I now have 55,000 original miles on my engine). I've been meaning to change it, but keep forgetting about it.

In the next two weeks I have to drive possibly another 1000 miles. I could change it here in my driveway, but I'd much rather change it around Christmas when I can use a heated garage...its probably 22 degrees out right now, I could find a day when it is 40 out though I'm sure...

So what would you all suggest, how urgent is it that I get this done before I put more miles on my car?

if you can keep your foot off of the warp drive, no big deal. otherwise change it.

These cars are not that sensitive. Change it in the next 10-20k miles.

It's had two filters in 55k? And you only want to wait another 1k? Doing it in the best of conditions easy. Wait.

I had mine relocated, now it takes about 5 minutes to change. It was definitely a worthwhile mod.

^ You got a bunch of good stuff done at the same time! Wrapping the downpipe was a no brainer...

where did you relocate your fuel filter to because its a pain to get to its current location. 5 min change would be nice.
thanks
