fuel filter fun
Since I'm taking my LSD out to install a new one, I figure it's about time to change the fuel filter anyway. Does anyone know the filtering capability of the stock filter? I was looking at an earls in line fuel filter (possible relocation) and it's 85 micron, will this be sufficient? Eventhough the fuel filter doesn't need to be cleaned that often, when it does it's not fun, so I was considering relocating it. The earls one has 6 -an fittings already on it to so it's pretty much plug and play. If anyone has a better idea for a filter please chime in.

Well you will have to get adapters with femail -6 AN on one side and a 3/8" nipple on the other for it to be plug and play. The stock one also enters and exits on the same side, so you wuold have to get a U piece too. I think the stock filter would be fine and not too much of a hassle unless you already have braided hose with AN fittings from the fuel rail back.

IMHO trying to upgrade the fuel filter just seems like a way to introduce more failure points into the system, especially if you're not running all braided lines. Just get a stocker and go with it - I've yet to hear anyone document any sort of flow issues with the stock filter.
