Fuel Delivery Problems

Set up:

FFE rails
Parellel set up
Aeromotive A1000-6 regulator
Denso Supra Pump
Bosch EV14 injectors
Full tank of gas

everything is less than 2,000 miles old. Origional set up worked great for a while but i am experiencing problems now.

Problem:

One day my car has trouble starting. When started the fuel pressure was bouncing with a liquid fuel gauge at idle and it seemed the pressure in the lines was 35-38PSI no matter what setting I put on the fuel regulator. The pressure would drop to 0 after car was shut down immediately.

I tried some tests on this system and I pinched the return line and the pressure would not rise. I thought the fuel pump was old/going out and the check valve was bad so i replaced the fuel pump.

I changed the fuel pump to a new one and the bouncing of the fuel pressure reduced/eliminated but the fuel pump is making noises, the car is also still hard to start. The fuel pump sounds like it has air in it or pulsated a little when pumping? (feeling the line)

The fuel pressure went back to zero after shutting the car when looking at the gage. I was undoing my return line and when taken off some fuel was coming out of the return line. I undid the gas tank cap and I heard gargling of fuel going down for like 30 seconds (remember the return line is off already). So I started to look at the venting of the tank. I want to know if these pressure regulators? are installed correctly? Pic attached.

Any advice what to check?

I don't see any fuel coming out of the pressure regulator when idling (FPR might be good). I adjust the regulator up and down and it does not change the pressure when car is idling.

I am not sure if the car has been rewired (doesn't look like it). stock wires going into tank.

Since a fuel system is a simple sequential system until you go to your parellel split, you need to check it the same way. Section by section.

First verify that your +12VDC source is working correctly to the pump. That includes voltage with and without the speed relay engaged.

Second that the pump and it connection to the outlet pipe is not leaking.
Really is best to remove that stupid failure prone bell seal system and use a hose from the pump to the pipe.

Next is the fuel filter.

Then check the pressure as the fuel reaches the engine and before it splits off.

The rest is yours to figure out to insure your setup is correct.
