SC Loud noise from engine bay after driving

Hey guys, i heard this noise coming from the engine bay while I was driving home last night, the noise level remains the same when i rev the motor, to me it sounds like a bearing from one of the pulleys but i'm just not sure, was wondering if anybody has heard this noise before and could tell what it is, and also it doesn't do it all the time, if I shut off the car immediately and start it back up the noise will go away, and it could be another 10-20 mins of driving before it comes back on.

okay so i pulled the filter off the turbo and inspected everything and it seems fine, so i started the car with the filter off the turbo and listened for any noise, and nothing.. then the fans came on. When the fans cut on it was there was a faint strange sound, def. didnt sound normal, then the noise from the video came on and i listened for a minute. I went to shut the car off and as the fans were slowing down they started grinding a bit. so i believe the bearings on my cooling fans are going out. any input?

Pull the EGI relay and turn the car to AC. The fans should start running without the engine going. You can then validate if the the fans are the noise or not.

A nice trick is grabbing a long screw driver and hold it up to your ear (ie stethoscope) and placing it on different possible sources of the noise; that'll help narrow it down but seems you've already found the source. Sounds like the fan motor is on its last leg; either find used fan in FS thread or maybe check if Ray can get them still.

i inspected the fans and didn't really see anything, and they dont seem to be rubbing up on anything, and the noise that it's making just sounds like a worn out bearing honestly.

sooo, your saying the noise is there when the fans are on... and goes away when the fans turn off???... yes, I would say it is a good chance that its your fans.

with the engine off and fans off, spin the fans with your hand... do they spin smooth and free.. or are they notchy?

also check them for play
