front wiper problem, power on motor but no wipers

While driving today my front wipers stopped working.
I checked to fuse, 20A like it should be, not blown.
Checked all plugs on the stalk under the steering cowl, no problems.
Checked the connector to the motor, the ground (black wire I assume?) is OK, with the stalk in the lowest position (fast wiping) all 4 other pins in the connector carry 12V.
With the stalk in the intermittent position a clicking sound is heared from somewhere in the dash.

Does anyone have any tips other than replacing the motor maybe? Thanks!

Just took the car for another drive and I didn't realise I had left the wipers on when looking for the problem.
When I hit a speedbump the wipers started working again...

If there is one thing I hate more than electrical problems it's intermittent electical problems.

try lightly hitting the motor with a hammer or something while there on to see if it jars them to life. Possible there could be a bad solder on the motor circuit.
