Front speaker replacement.... need to fit without mods

I have been looking at replacing the speakers in my car, I dont want to have anything outside of the stock mounting locations. The only speakers that fit into the front of the car are component systems. So what I was thinking of doing was getting smaller speakers for the fronts instead of 5 1/2 front speakers i could shrink it down to 3 1/2's. I just want some input on what you guys think? I was going to get infinity reference speakers 6x8 for the rear and the 3 1/2's for the front, and its going to be powered buy an alpine headunit (dont know which one yet) but the ones I am deciding between are all 18w rms. thats why I picked the lowest series of infinity b/c they should match up well with the power the headunit puts out. This is what i was thinking of doing but i want your oppions so I get more ideas. Thanks....

I put in 6.5" Infinity Kappa. Was a couple years ago, but think I just had to do a tiny bit of trimming to fit them.
