are front and rear rotor housings interchangeable?
They are different part numbers through mazda but I dont remember seeing a difference when just looking at them. I think it was the S5 TII that it mattered due the the turbo coolant passages in one of the housing. I'd guess if you where to do a rebuild by the FSM and you might reused some of the apex seals then you might not want to switch up the housings. Hopfully someone that knows the difference(if there is any) can chime in.

They are interchangeable, *but* one of the rotor housings has a port for the EGR that runs into the exhaust sleeve. If you swap them, you won't pass emissions.....of course, that's not an issue for 95% of FD owners
