Question Front Bumpers with Air-Intake Ducts

What do people think of the aftermarket front bumpers with air-intake ducts? (see pic-link)

http://store2.yimg.com/I/rotorworks_1644_3923708

Are they effective?

(I had a link to a site with a few others, but now the page won't come up)

Well, you can do what I'm thinking about doing.

Take out the blinkers and replace then with a smaller light kit.

I thought of the idea liek 2 years ago, then a few weeks ago in a Japanese mag I saw that in Japan they sell these kits. I'm going to try and make my own, but probbaly not for another 6 months or so when I have time.

Basically you reduce the size of the blinkers by about 2/3 and leave the rest of the opening as an air intake.

IMO you can't have a front end with too large of intake ducts or wheels too large on an FD. It updates it tremendously (look at the new 2002 Porsche GT2 and you'll see what I mean.)) The only problem is where does all that extra air exhaust unless you have a vented hood to go with it? I just don't go for the ones with sculpted "wings" on the side or extra "lips" on the front. I'll probably catch hell for this but for the money my favorite is the PFS. Simple, clean, functional, and for $750.00, priced well IF the quality is good. I wouldn't know.....Peter does'nt take American Express. HEY - that would make a GREAT Visa commercial!!!:p

Small Clarification

Just to clarify, I am talking about the special air-intake that a few front bumpers have that bring air directly to the air filter(s).

Check out pic (in my original post above) to see an example of what I'm referring to. :)

Oh - duh, I get it......... I like it and think it makes a hell of a lot of sense, but I always wonder if they actually work. Without aerodynamic testing it is impossible to tell. There's about a million different designs for ducts. Some work to ram air, some actually suck it out! Most are posers.
As long as it's not like the freakin' hood scoop on the new WRX! CHEEEEZZZy. (even if it is functional!) The more I look at that car the more I hate it - not as much as an ASSTEK by Pontiac, but close..........Now if they would only put a hood scoop on the ASSTEK.....Yeah baby.
