He got it from Jason super fast. He gave me his busted R1 lip, I'll use that until I get the 99 (the wife is getting it for me for an anniversery gift I think)
Anyway, I think it looks delicious on his car. So much nicer than the stock lip.

And his old lip on my car. I cleaned it up and painted it with some krylon fusion paint..the stuff that bonds to plastic. (and my car is dirty from a 315mile drive back from WV)

It has always been my opinion that the R1 lip looks best on 93 - 95 FDs, and the 99 spec looks best on the 99 FDs. The body lines just flow so much better when the correct year lip is used. When they are swapped it just doesn't look right to me. Just my $0.02.
I would have to disagree with novadan67. I think the 99 spec lip looks great on both the 93-95 front and the 96-2000 whatever front. Also I belive that the 99 spec lip has some aerodynamic advantages over the R1 lip.
Car looks looks good by the way.

Yeah, I know this is sort of a split issue. It is just my opinion that the rounded lines of the R1 lip look better with the more rounded lines of the 93-95 bumper. I do understand that there is also a small aero advantage to the 99 spec lip, but looks wise I prefer the R1 (with the 93-95 bumper). I wasn't trying to bash either car, just stating my opinion - both cars look good BTW.

I like both myself - the 99 just a bit more -but right now I'm just happy to have one, I had the stock "no-lip" thing before.

BTW, I agree with you. The '99 front spoiler looks better on a '99 nose, and the R1 front spoiler looks better on '93-'95. The '99 wraps around too far on the sides and makes the front wheel wells look awkward, and it's more "severe" styling doesn't look right with the very rounded '93-'95 nose. The R1 front spoiler is more rounded and flows with the lines of the nose better.

Just think of it as an excuse to get the whole 99 front end.
Not to mention the 99 lip not quite fitting perfect on the 93-95 nose, the shape just doesnt completely line up right. I just wish you could buy replacement R1 lips for the prices you can find the 99 lips for.
I think the '99 looks out of place on the '93 as well. I made a splitter to aid radiator cooling and bolt it in place of my base model lip when I go to the track. It works well.

Section8, you and your friends cars look great, however i've never been a fan of painted R1 lips. I dont know why, but i seem to like that black plastic textured look better. Either way, its your car, and it looks great and good job painting.

DamonB, do you have any other pictures of your splitter? It's hard to make out in that shot.
I also did much better in my autox this weekend, I was within 4 seconds of FTD thanks to some much appreciated ride alongs I got with lots of tips. Can't wait to see what the car will do when I get some track tires

check out FDeez mazdaspeed CF lip in this thread. The mazdaspeed lip looks one piece and seems to sit lower??!?! Very nice regardless..

All this splitter talk reminded me of the Mazdaspeed front undersweep that JT-Imports has:

7Racer, is that what FDeez put on his car? It looks to achieve more of what DamonB's thread talks about with flattening out the whole undertray, however it's not cheap - I emailed him about it since I'd like to replace my falling apart stock undertray, and he quoted me $1500. Too rich for my blood.
