This is one great puzzle.

You have new plugs, new wires, a new leading coil and a new igniter and you swapped PCMS.

You have the parts covered except the wiring and the crank angle sensor. You have checked the wiring and you have power and ground to the leading coil.

Are you really sure about the crank angle sensor? It is what gets the ball rolling - telling the computer that you are at 5 degrees before TDC and signaling the igniter to ground the leading coil.

LUPE

I would double check both the CASs (NE and G) and their wiring. Weirder things have happened.

Jeff, if one of the cas were bad though. Wouldn't neither the trailing or leading fire?

You could put an oscilloscope on the inputs to the igniter to check that it is getting a proper sqaure waveform from the ecu and that would be pretty definitive. I had the same problem you did once (trailing spark and no leading) and I checked the things you did eventually concluding that it was my J&S knock sensor leading to the problem (wish it were that easy for you).

Checked the cas. Both check out fine. Wiring seems fine too. I did a continuity check on the cas wires. One of them have continuity to power and one has continuity to ground, is this right?

When you say "checked" the CAS what do you mean? Did you check resistance? .95 to 1.25 K ohms?

What you really want to do is remove the sensor, set the meter for ohms, and put a lead at each terminal & measure resistance.

By the way, these things are basically just magnets and sometimes just get weak or cracked or actually broken into pieces. With everything you have gone through, you ought to pull 'em off an take a look anyway.

Thing about your problem is that you have covered it all. The CAS sends a signal to the ecu. The ecu computes "crank" position and tells the igniter. The igniter grounds the coil & the coil send voltage through the wires to the plugs. End. You have changed ECU, Igniters, coils, wires and plugs. It seems like the CAS is all there is.

Resistance checked out right above 1. k olms. I removed both sensors and they look fine. I've covered everything but checking to see if the computer is sending out a signal to the leading coils. Still trying to figure out how to do that with a multimeter. I also want to check wire continuity from the beginning of the wiring harness to the end. Still trying to find the right pins/wires in the manual .

Thanks for the help.

Someone is going to get their *** stomped. It seems as if someone tried to be funny and intentionally cut my lg/1h wire to my ecu. It's a perfect cut right off the ecu.

I've got fire now.

Thanks guys....... I guess nobody guessed sabotage, right?

But didn't you have the same problem with the other ecu? The odds that both computers are not signaling the igniter seem impossible and the igniter is new.

Remember the way it works. CAS feeds info to the computer, the computer signals the igniter, the igniter grounds the coils. Page z-38 shows pin 1t from the ecu to the leading igniter.

I would have never guessed that....MF.

Well, at least you are firing. Congrats my man. Have fun this weekend. I assume you have a date with Gateway....
