FPR problems...not creating any pressure?

I have the cheapo ebay fuel pressure regulator, it is set up like the sard FPR. For some reason, I cannot get any fuel pressure. Fuel is going into the regulator and moving the diaphram against the spring, but not enough fuel is coming out the exit port to create any pressure. It was working fine when I had two fuel pumps in tank before. I took it apart and everything is perfect inside, the spring the diaphram, etc. I can feel fuel coming out, and if I pinch the line with my finger it will show pressure on the gauge, but other wise its just lightly spraying through the line. Any suggestions?

The "cheapo Ebay fuel pressure regulator" is probably where your problem lies . I'd go ahead and get a good, reliable part - FPR's are too critical a part in the system to just use whatever's cheapest.

FPRs don't create pressure. They regulate pressure by allowing just the right amount of fuel to flow through the regulator. If you raise the pressure, the FPR will let less fuel through.

I am also suspicious of the eBay part, but I would take a careful look at how the regulator is installed first. By your description, it sounds like the FPR is installed incorrectly. It should be plumbed pump-rail-FPR. From your desription, it sounds like you have it setup as pump-FPR-rail. The FPR regulates pressure in the line between the pump and the FPR. The return line (between the FPR and the tank) is unregulated, low pressure.

yeah, im with ^. i think you have it backwards. ebay ones arent well made, but still work. i think fuel should flow in the side and out the bottom if its like my aeromotive fpr. the fpr should be installed after the fuel rail, and the bottom opening should lead back to the tank (return line). and as he said ^ is low pressure.
