Its part of a car alarm, it uses that little conction for you to push in a memery card type key to start the car.

Usually, removing something that you are not familiar with is a bad idea.

Same thing happened to me. Glad I wasn't the only one.

I'm assuming you already know this, but nobody has specifically said it yet; that's not an OEM part.

for anti-theft. they have a little key card. when you park the car, remove the card, and it won't start. put the card in and it starts. If yours starts without the card in, then it's already been bypassed.

so taking it out shouldnt be a problem. be sides i only taps into one wire and when its gone and the one wire reconnected then i dont see why i wouldnt work. if the anti theft isnt there any more then there shouldnt be anything to stop the car from starting? right?

Get rid of it. that is old news for a car alarm. besides. you're not going to be parking where anyone could steal her... right? and if it did work, what would you do if you lost/broke the key when you were 45 minutes away from home?

Throw it in the trash. Its easy to bypass and just causes more clutter up under the dash.
