Found my coolant leak.. hole in my waterpump??
Well my car has been losing coolant ever since I bought it and I could never figure out from where.. so I pulled my water pump and found this hole in it:
As you can see, that's where the coolant has been leaking. Is that hole supposed to be there? I assume I need a new water pump, but is there a reason for that hole?

To be certain get in there close with a light and see if the water pump is wet on the bottom just behind the pulley. If so, time for a new waterpump.

That's a weep hole, thells you when the water pump bearings and seal have gone bad. Replace your pump and don't tighten the alternator up so tight, (that's what will cause the bearings to fail pretty quick) good luck and nice find. Jack
