Found little spring in gas tank???

the other day, i did a burn out and got a little wheel hop; notice the gas gauge went ot empty.

Took the fuel assembly out today and notice i dont have a "floaty" on the level rod. no biggie, ill just ge one off another one. But i saw a small spring laying on the bottom of the tank. its a real soft spring, i have no clue where it goes. So i went out to the garage to grab my spare fuel assembly to see where the spring goes and i couldnt see anything. Also before i could get home, i put the assemby back in without the float and my guage reads again....weird.

Can somebody tell me where that spring goes or was it just a random piece the fell in there some how?

On another note, i prolly gonna go with a twin pump set-up (one for each fuel rail) both stock pumps. Both will go into a FPR (2 in and 1 out) would the stock return line be enough???
i know 2 pumps mean more things to fail, but i have these laying around, so kinda on a budget. Also would the RP competition pump be enough for 4 1300cc?? aint that just a supra pump?

thanks

Hai

The stock return line is not enough. You need to either upgrade or get rid of your chacoal canister and use the return line for it as your second fuel return line.
