F'ng L2 Coil...

When doing my plugs and wires today, I pulled the L2 wire to find it had welded itself in there. I was curious if aside from taking off the coil and scraping all the crap out if I'd be able to save it or if it'd just be easier to replace it?

Dig out the rubber ,wire and old connector, then smooth out the metal in the tower. See if there is a hole burned in the metal if not ,good to go. save your money to buy a torque brace from Garfinkle.hahahah

I had the same thing except it was my leading coil. I just replaced it to have the piece of mind that a hack job wouldn't cause a problem later...

DOH! For some reason I thought that 'L' was a 'T'.

I got mine from Mazdatrix (way back when):

However, now, I would probably order from Ray:
Malloy Mazda

Talk to Ray Crowe

I'm sure he'll beat that price.....

Don't forget to use some dielectrical grease when you put everything back together....

I checked around and got $160 as a quote at AUTOZONE, and that motivated me a bit. So I took her all apart, used some needle nose pliers to tear out what was left of the wire. Then I used an oiled up wire brush to get the corrosion and crap out and it looked almost new. She feels like it's fixed but I'm gonna have the UIM off again to do the hose job here soon so I'll check it's condition then to see what it looks like. Jedon, how much would you want for your coil (just in case I do needa replace it)? PM me.

Edit: as a side note, I found the loose hose while I was under there so I fixed my boost to 10-8-10 again too. Yay!
