It helps to strengthen the body/frame from twisting. I had one on my last car. The only thing with a FD is there isn't much room for a bar behind the seat. I have it all the way back as far as it can go because I have long legs.

It's like a strut tower brace, but for the center of the chassis.

anybody ever installed one?

I know they are a popular mod in other cars, but i've never seen one in a seven. Probably for the reason Fumanchu mentioned.

A better solution would be to strengthen the chassis weld junctions, install a full roll cage (this floor bar is like installing 1/20th of a roll cage), or both. Any of these options will take a lot of time and effort, however.

Personally I doubt the added weight would offset the increased rigidity, but I could be wrong, I've never tried one. I would spend the $$$ on tires or a race seat / harness.

Interesting, but I'd just wait until you could put a full roll bar in.

Yep. Just another way to get people to buy something they don't need. Does it come with a turbo timer
