Flooded Engine with PFC

Hey guys, I'm currently troubleshooting a possible engine flooding, non cold starting issue. I've searched and read in several threads that you can hold the throttle down and crank the engine to cut off fuel. My question is can this also be done with a PFC? Appreciate the help, thanks.

I would pull the fuel pump fuse to be sure.

That wouldn't work because the injectors will still fire. Pull the green and yellow relay in the large engine bay fuse box and remove 1 spark plug from each housing. You can pull all 4 if you want. Its very important you disable spark as well because when the fuel mist comes out, it's very flammable.

A loose spark from the disconnected plug wire will create a pretty impressive event you won't want to talk about.

Really? I've been under the impression that holding the pedal down on startup will stop more fuel from being injected. I wanted to try this first before I tried starting it again and dump even more fuel into the chamber. Was trying to avoid pulling the EGI and plugs to clear it out but that seems like the task at hand.

I ask because I just had my car delivered to a colder climate and the guy pulled out the car and shut it down immediately after. Probably was on for not even a minute and a half. I've read a few threads now regarding the full throttle startup trick but there was no depiction of what ECU was running the procedure.

That function is with the oem ecu

taking the egi fuse will take literally 10 seconds and then crank it a few times, it may clear.

Actually I THINK the PFC will do a flood clear if you floor the gas when cranking. Want to say I've de-flooded before with this technique.

That really only helps for very light floods. More than that and you gotta pull the plugs.
