Part Time PFC

To start off:
my car: 94 PEG
Mods: DP, CB, IC, Intake, mild streetport.

I've owned my PFC for about 8 months now. Never installed. I was told that I shouldn't got WOT on an untuned PFC with a streetported engine. Ok, I'll wait till the time is right to get it tuned with the PFC. Well now I'd like to be able to change between the stock ECU and PFC. With the stock ECU, normal driving, some WOT runs, have some fun. With the PFC, check sensors, adjust the TPS easily, limit RPMs and boost when she's in the shop. So my question is if I install my PFC for the stated reasons and I cut the 4 wires, will the stock ECU still work correctly, i.e. will the car run well, I'm not worried about emmisions? Or am I better off breaking the pins off the PFC? Thanks guys!

The PowerFC has a really flexible map - I would be VERY shocked if you had trouble with the PFC. Hell, it's gonna be WAY better with your setup than the stock ECU!

Keep your boost reasonable - 10-11 psi, and you'll be plenty safe with the PFC. Back the pins out of the connector on the stock wiring harness - easy to do, and you can plug the pins back in if you do ever have to swap back out.

People are too paranoid about putting the PowerFC in. I'd be more paranoid about running that setup with a stock ECU - that's FAR more of a dangerous combo.

Put it in and enjoy.

LOL, thanks Dale! I'll "get ir done" ASAP.

BTW, my pressure chamber doesn't seem to hold pressure and I was thinkin' of replacing my check valves. Do you have the Viton ones in stock?

Thanks again. I'm a big fan of your site and really appreciate the knowledge you've imparted to fellow FD owners. I really feel confident with installing my PFC, pillowball bushings, removing the UIM, thanks to you.

Without the guys like Dale on this site I would never EVER be able to own and do work on my car.

I still remember the day I took the UIM off using the aforementioned instructions and thinking the whole time I was going to ruin something .

Now I rip this bitch *** car apart with reckless abandon lol
