CA Flasher Issue

Ok here it goes...

I removed my dash so I can switch my carpet to black. I added some Dynamat on the tranny tunnel and quiet car on the floor. After I was done with my project, I have put everything back as I remembered it. The FD started fine but the flasher is not working properly.

At first, the driver side was flashing like mad without me turning the signal. A few days later, the driver side is resolved but the passenger side was flashing like crazy. The hazard light works fine by the way. The switch doesn't seem to work too. Both cluster indicator flashes like crazy too without the hazard light on.

Any ideas?? I have tried looking around and see if I clipped any wires but I don't see any.

Sounds like grounding issues.

Or you may have somehow caused damage to the flasher relay box. You can remove the box (it's located near the clutch pedal), open the unit and inspect the board.

Check out Dale Clark's thread on modifying the flasher box to function properly when you run LED turn signal bulbs.

I had a similar issue with door/lights chimes that were on constantly even while driving, hunted for weeks. Bad ground or wiring I thought.
Have you pulled the flasher, I had dust or something on the board that arched two contacts. Scraped/cleaned off the arched material between the two points, reinstall, fine a year later.
