First time rx-7 buyer help

First time rx-7 buyer help
Hey guys I want to buy a 3rd Generation Rx-7. But im not sure if buying a 10 year old car would be a wise decision. I want something fast and also something cheap. For a Rx-7 what modifications do I have to do to it? I dont know much about Rotary engines so please excuse my ignorance. 
Would I just change the exhaust, and the turbos? I would want to be able to run something as fast as I can on 91 pump gas and be a daily driver. Is Rotary something that a lot of mechanics know how to work on? Please help me out guys all of this rotary stuff is confussing to me its either I get a Rx-7 or some Honda like a Prelude.
