First start up advice

My car has been a work in progress for a long time and it hasn't ran in a couple of years. It was completely stock and now has this brief list of mods installed:
Power FC
ID 2200cc and stock 550cc
A/C and Power steering delete
Single T04E
KDR Street port engine
Twin Power
Profec B, plx wideband

I am about ready to try and start the car but honestly i am kind of nervous being its been so long and i have so much time and money invested. I just dont want to screw anything up like frying the Power FC. I have drained the fuel tank so i can use fresh fuel and made sure all fluids are fresh. should i pour a little oil down the intake and rotate it by hand first? Do i just plug the FC in, start it, and let it idle for a while? I wont drive it right now without a tune but i have a feeling just getting it to start and idle will be hard enough.

Here's what you should do -

- Turn the key to On and make sure everything powers up and seems cool.

- Turn the key back off, pull the EGI fuse from under the hood.

- Crank the engine until you're seeing positive oil pressure. This can take up to 30 seconds of cranking. Crank for 5-10 seconds, let the starter rest a second, repeat, until you see oil pressure. If you're still not seeing oil pressure, troubleshoot.

- Shut car off, put in EGI fuse, start car up and KEEP IT RUNNING. The car may want to stall or something, try and keep it running. Hopefully it will idle OK. Let it warm up. If it's idling OK, check to make sure you're not leaking or spewing anything, if so shut it off.

If you have a Lisle coolant funnel, it's a good time to have one. Put that on the fill neck and let the air bubble up, easy way to get air out of the system. Keep topping it up as air bubbles up. Once it's warmed up and run for about 10-15 minutes, shut it off and let it cool down.

Once you feel confident with the level of coolant, button it up and go for an easy test drive.

Don't worry about the PowerFC idle programming or any of that business until you get the engine more happy. The idle may surge a bit or something, that's fine. You can do the idle learn later.

Biggie is cranking to build oil pressure, you do NOT want to start a fresh engine and a fresh turbo without pre-lubing with oil.

Definitely install them. If it's a new engine, I prefer to start a new engine on nice, new plugs. New engines can sometimes want to flood or be difficult, and nothing helps with starting like nice, new plugs.

If you have some fancy plugs, just run the car on stock plugs while you're breaking in the motor.

don't forget to prime the fuel system as well.

Once started (if you are running an AM FPR) ensure the FPR reading is around 36-40PSI at atmosphere (pull the vacuum hose) and set it. Set that first and see how it idles.
