First start after 6+ months. Precautions?
Hey all,
My car has been stuck at a shop for over a year and hasn't been started in about 6-7 months. Ya it sucks. Don't ask, it's too annoying to think about lol.
What precautions should I take before I fire it back up? Only thing I thought of was to not drive hard on whatever gas was left, and give it fresh gas.

Fresh plugs and oil wouldn't be a bad thing either. Pull the EGI and crank the engine over for a few seconds to prime the oil system and work the fresh oil into the bearings.
Other then that, make sure there is proper air pressure in the tires.

- Check ALL fluids first.
- I wouldn't drive it at all on the old gas. Get a 5 gallon can and put fresh in. If your still concerned a gallon of Toluene will work wonders on bumping that octane up.
- Oil change.
- Mods? Battery been connected? You may have to perform the idle relearn, so when you do start it, perform this function.
- Once all is well, drive it easy for a bit. Gradually show it load and boost. I would drive it a time or two before doing full boost WOT runs. Let things settle again.
