First post! Buying a 94 RX7 Tomorrow!

Glad to be apart of this community! I have been reading a lot of posts here and they are very informative and I can't wait to get my RX7! I'm siked. I have a RSX Type S and was thinking about slapping a turbo in it, but I decided to go the RX7 route. I'm certainly glad I made the RX7 route because these cars have so much potential. Plus it's a RWD sports car none of that FWD crap! Anyway I hope to learn a lot from you veterans out there and possibly make new friends!

Josh

You might wanna think about changing your member name. People aren't too fond of Hondas in here. RX7JOSH perhaps? Just kidding, welcome and good luck with your FD.

You guys kill me! Funny as hell.

Seems like the seller has already made a lot of positive changes to the car already. You might know him he is Trevor on this MSG board. Seems like he has already taken the time to try and make the car reliable as possible. Thanks for the Newbie Info BTW yuichiror. I've done quite a bit of reasearch on these cars and have always wanted one since they came out just never had the money.

You want pics? Well Trevor has his car online at http://snikt.org/fd/ You can get pics there. And tomorrow will be the first time I get to see the car! Can't wait!

Ah, I didn't know he was selling his FD. He seemed like a very knowledgeable guy.

Good luck with the car!

I just had an epiphany. 7 owners must be masochists to always mention the trial and tribulations of having such a car and still enjoy it most of the time. Sounds like you're well armed and have things well in order.

Woah, Trevor's selling his car? I'm surprised. Well, you should know that that car has been setup pretty well. Congratulations.

Definitely a nice ride. Dont push it past 13psi or shes 100% more likely to pop as I did not see oversized injectors listed in his modifications list.

Hes running a 100% Alchy setup. Im Sure it can handle the 14PSI. THe only thing I'm worried about is the turbos burning up. But I dont mind it would be an excuse to get the Greddy T-78 kit and while Im at it some new bigger secondary injectors and Fuel pump and fuel rail.

Yeah, thats a pretty shiny band-aid. Keep it full of alcohol and im sure youll be fine at 14psi. The stock injectors max out between 14 and 15psi. Some more experienced owners will tell you to push the car and not the setup, Im just one of them.

The 5th gear synchro is a feasible DIY fix for the mechanically minded and should fall somewhere short of rebuilding the stock turbos on the expense chart if it was contracted to a shop. Not a small aligator but not a crocodile either.

Yeah I already looked at the DIY Syncro fix on the 5th gear. The syncro costs about 110 bones and the install doesnt seem to shabby. Just need to get the right tools to pull the tranny and take apart the syncros. Should'nt be too bad I hope.

Josh just picked it up.

Me =
Josh =

I wish I could have kept it but the unplanned second kid made having two 2-seat fun machines kinda selfish. I wish Josh the best. I'll still be around here on the board on occasion. Plus all my close friends are still rotorheads and I'm still expected to do their tuning. :p I was trying to prod Josh into making the trip out to Sevenstock with us in October. Maybe then I could see the car again!
