First Mod for a Stock JDM FD
I have a Bone Stock 93' JDM FD, just finished doing all the maintenance and fixed a few minor problems (hood latch broke, leaking oil pedestal, leaking AST) and now im looking at some real mods now. I want to keep the engine/turbos stock and id like to make around 300'ish well tuned whp.
However I am haveing some trouble deciding on a first mod, and I am torn between putting in a new ECU (PFC) or a new intake. The intake I imagine I could install myself pretty easily; however the ECU I am not sure about as I have yet to touch and electronics on any of my vehicles, but I do want to be able to tune the car myself as there arent any good rotory tuners in this part of the country.
I really like the idea of being able to tune the car from the start and it also seems like it would help with reliabilty over the long run, but im concerned the learning curve is too steep any thoughts?

Mate if you have no tuning experience I suggest you leave that to the experts. The Power FC is plug and play....anyone idiot can take the stock ECU out and plug the new one in.
If there are no tuners around, alot of tuners in the US sell Power FC pre tuned to whatever mods you have BUT I take it your car is stock therefore your good to go on the base maps...which comes loaded on as standard on the PFC.
I would go with the second option as you will save money. There is no point paying for a tune on a totally stock car knowing that in 3 months time you'll throw a bunch of other mods on and have to spend money for another tune.
As for what mods you go with first that again is up to you. There is not much difference between a JDM and US FD except the US has the precat. There have been thousands of post as to which mods will get you to the 300'ish mark so do a search.
