Finally started to work on car!
Well, got everything off the block. Just couldn't go any further cus I didn't have a 54mm socket handy for the Flywheel. I'll probably have more pictures available tomorrow. (but who hasn't seen a bare rotary block before

Got the long block tore apart. Here are more pictures http://photobucket.com/albums/y81/Compilez/Project%207/
Thanks for all the positive comments. Keeps me motivated to get this FD on the road.
You said $3000 for a single setup? You let me know =) Lets see... fuel injectors, intercooler, radiator, piping, boost controller, tuning, differential, axels, hrmmm turbo, wastegate, manifold. You let me know if you can do it for $3000, I'll be VERY surprised. I spent $1750 for my kit, manifold, turbo, wastegate, oil lines, gaskets, etc. Then I picked up the intercooler ($1100) and the radiator ($350), there you go... already at $3100, then you figure $500 for my fuel setup, although you can do it for a lot cheaper. Axels and Diff are not required, but if you want to push serious power, you'll need the support. All the piping you can get if you buy an intercooler, but if you do a custom job, it will cost you a bit.
But, good luck, I've dropped about $8,000 for my setup... but aside from all the turbo and cooling, I picked up a C-West Kit, Scoot Hood, C-West Headlights, Mazdaspeed Short Shifter, lol... just to name a few extras... so far the experience is good =P
..... but aside from all my bitching... I could have just misinterpreted what you said... $3000 to get it running from where you are makes sense =)

) The turbo i'm thinking about getting alone is more than that retail. But I haven't decided what turbo I'm gonna go with for sure yet.****, if I could go single for $3000 I would probably be there by now. I'm not going single right away. That is later down the road. The $3000 is just to get it on the road with the stock twins. And I actually have thought of other things I am going to need/go ahead and do while it's out so tha price has probably raised a grand or so.
Two things I've learned in life.
1.) Whatever time you think it will take to get something done on a car, double it.
2.) However much money you think you'll spend, double if not tripple it.
Wise man say, he who stand on toilet is high on pot.

Yeah not cheap going single. I ended up spending about $10k when I blew my rear apex seals. That included a new 3mm race ported motor. The fuel upgrades, PFC, ignition, fabricating of the I.C. pipes and down pipe, etc. It all adds up. Lucky for me I already had a front mount intercooler if not that would of been another $1100. Now I need to invest another $800 or so to get her tuned. My advice do it right the first time and don't cut any corners, it'll be worth it in the end.
Update on the engine: Had it cleaned and inspected and turns out 1 rotor housing is damaged so that needs to be replaced. Instead of me rebuilding it myself, I was conviced in having a professional build it for me. I gave him the deposit last night. It's gonna be Street Ported, 3mm Hurley Apex seals, 2 extra Dowel pins drilled and installed. He has to order all the parts so the engine should be built in 2 weeks.
