finally got it tuned. question about horsepower?

hey finally got the car tuned. havent picked it up yet. also got new boost gauge, oil press, and egt installed anyway im making 275 rwhp does that seem right? the car has a downpipe midpipe and catback. large entercooler and power fc. also its a automatic so i know they dont make as much power. does this sound like its doing the right hp. he says it spools fast and takes off like a bat out of hell. it was falling on its face before it got tuned.

how much boost are you tuned for ? an auto can make the same HP as a stick . its the trans that can't hold the HP! sounds like your low on HP with those mods you should be in the 300 HP area. even at 10 psi you should be doing better than 275 HP. more info please

The auto has more drivetrain loss than the manual, so you will make less with the same boost.

275 is pretty damn low for those mods....depending on the boost level. It could be a ****-poor tune, but you didn't want to listen to me about that in your other thread....

Because you brought it to someone who doesn't know anything about RX-7s. Either he didn't understand how to adjust the timing (and all the other settings we were trying to tell you about in the other thread you started) or he had to keep it safe rather than give you the extra 25-30 hp that's available. IMHO.

Those numbers are really low if you truely are running 14-15psi.

some people are a little insane in this thread, either your dynos are exxagerating figures or you are not running stock twins.

every dyno will register different numbers because every dyno has different accuracies. you did not know this?

personally i think your numbers may be a tiny bit low but not far off.

there is many factors to HP readings, even your tire pressure being low will cause you to get low numbers, pumping the tire pressure up a bit will inflate your HP numbers so there is always a margin of error in dyno numbers.

the difference felt between 270 and 320 is noticable but still not a huge gain. like steve said though, the people who are saying 320 are a little off in space anyways.

why can't you drive it until dec 17th? please don't tell me because that is when you get your license, lol.

karack, the difference between 270 and 320 is 50 horses at the wheel, which I think is a huge difference.

kyrx7, my dad's r1 made 290 at 12 psi with an intake, dp and catback and pfc piggyback ecu. stock ic and main cat, but he did have a fresh reman motor and fresh stock twins.

275 with all of those mods plus midpipe and large ic at 14 psi is way low. With similar mods to you I made 337 to the ground many years ago.

both my FD any my dad's are 5 spd R1s, and the results were on 2 different dynojets. Is your guy using a mustang dyno perhaps?

I did it 6 years ago. Then put down 368 at 16 psi. Both were on twins and the same motor with a very mild port. The only changes were I added 1300cc secondaries to support the additional boost. I probably have the dyno sheets laying around somewhere.

Really? and that is on 91 octane fuel and through the cat? I don't recall anyone making over 350rwhp with a cat on.
