Finally got my RX7! Here are a few pics.

Just thought I'd share a few pics of my new FD. 1993 77K miles on the chassis, 5K on the Mazda Reman. It's got a new clutch, fuel filter was recently changed, and relatively new brake pads.

A forum member, WVRx7 found the car for me so much thanks to him for finding me such a great car, and once again letting me stay at his house after we picked it up. He's a great host.

Anyway..the pictures:

First time in the driver's seat:

After we left the guy's house, WVRx7 picked up his car and let us on a drive around Charleston.

Damn pole got in the way

Back at his house:

Behold, a stock engine bay! These actually still exist? My AST should arrive tonight, so that's going on ASAP.

Fog lamps will probably come off soon too to allow more air to the radiator.

early morning shots before we left WV.

We hit a winery on the way home, thought the vines in the background were a nice touch:

when you said a few pics i took that literally.

nice ride, clean it up and enjoy it for 2 minutes, before the speed bug bites you and you spend thousands modifying it.

Sorry, got a little carried away with the pictures I guess.

I'll be cleaning her all week after work probably, not really going to modify it for power at all. I'm planning on doing the springs and maybe shocks. The car does have a downpipe on it already, but that was obviously put on more for reliability than performance.

Thanks! some people hate it, but I think it looks gorgeous. The leather needs a good cleaning too, I'll be working on that tonight maybe, but I think I'll start with the exterior.

Thumbs up

Looks good and congrats!

I wouldn't worry about the fog lights blocking air. If the fog lights are keeping your car from running cool, you'd have bigger problems than just them.

Looks like you might need some new rubber. Enjoy the car!

Well, almost stock. I forgot about those. The guy that put the engine in just put those grounding straps on last week to try to fix the 3000rpm hesitation.

that's a wonderful story I'm glad you're excited

you have to mod the car a little though! at least get a catback on there because the stock one is ugly. Then a front lip and 99 tail lights lower it haha theres so much

good luck oh and my favorite reliability mods are the boost and water temp gauges. get some good ones maybe warning they are really important to track.

btw how does the car feel to you fast?
Ive always loved that guys car he copied me on the color though haha. Did you guys do this on the way home too?

That is a great picture WVRx7 has a stock exhaust for me since the muffler on mine needs to be replaced ( and the tips are gone) When I do upgrade though, i'm going to get a Racing Beat dual tip, I just like that look better. I'm going to get a 99 lip, and probably do the do it yourself 99 tail light conversion.

I'll be ordering a boost gauge and pod soon..maybe today in fact, and I'm hoping to get a PFC within 6 months, so I plan to use that for the water temp gauge. Until then, I'm just going to watch the thing like a hawk.

Ok, maybe I should restate that lol.

Not going to modify it for power any time soon

I need to learn the car first and I want to do some autox and track events to get some seat time and experience before I add more hp. This is enough for me now, my daily driver is a Tacoma V6, so this is a BIG jump for me!

Nice buy man! It's very cool to see a stock FD. IMO those original wheels still look just as cool or better than many after market wheels. They really fit the car with a timeless look. The red leather isn't real common? It looks hot.

Watch out for those polls jumping in front of the car. It's good that you weren't driving when that one go in front of your picture. I once had a poll jump in front of me as I was going around a left corner with a previous FD.

Hey, I have a Toyota Tacoma V6 too. Having the FD and pick up is perfect for daily driver and pleasure vehicle.

Traffic? I've got enough traffic here for all of the dakotas. I-95 is a bitch at all times of the day.

I plan on heeding everyone's warning about driving this car in the wet. If it's raining, the car will just stay in the garage. If I get caught out in a shower, I'll make sure to stay off boost.

don't worry about watching the stock temp guage unless it's linearized...because it won't move until it's too late...

search for temp linearization

maybe spruvo will chime in with the link.
