Finally finished assembly on my new engine.

well it has been almost 3 weeks since my car has bene out of commision. last week I got my new engien from RX-7 Specialties. I just spent last wekeend transfering all the **** to it from my old engine. ie. Turbos, piping, slenoids, coils, flywheel, clutch, etc.

So, it is finally sitting there all dressed and ready to be thrown in. I cannot wait. Getting the old flywheel off was pretty fun to say the least (thanks sniper x).

I just have a few concerns maybe some of you can help me with beofre I put it back in.

I noticed some oil around the intake to the second turbo, by intake I mean the lip around the wheel thingy. compressor wheel I guess. there seams to be a seal there in the casing, adn it looks to be leaking. nothing major, and I never blew any smoke with them running. Shoudl I be concerned?

I didn;t resurface the my old pressure plate becaue I forgot too. so I haev new flywheel and 3k old pressur plate. is this okay?

One of the turbo studs was mangled from shiping, so I shaved of the threads on the outer part of it and reused the old turbo housing nuts. I got it to factory torque specs, so I don;t think there will be a porblem.

Thanks Guys

My turbos were like that and I worried and said wtf and put them back in - they were fine

The pressure plate will also be fine unless you have huge burn marks on it.

I resused all my nuts and studs with no problem - but I removed them very carefully with a couple of days of liquid wrench on them.

Good Luck!

I ALWAYS wire brush all my bolts.

I chase all high torque bolt holes with a TAP if its handy.

I ALWAYS CHASE THE TENSION BOLTS AND HOLES -ALWAYS- when building an engine.

My engines dont seep!

well, in hindsight I could have used a die on the stud, but didn't hink of it until is was too late. Using a tap on all the holes, etc would have been a good idea, oh well but I am sure I would have broken something going through rusted Iron
