FFE Secondary and Bosch EV14

Guys, little predicament here. I noticed that i cant push the 48mm injector all the way down with the stock rubber bushing in there between the injector and the diffuser. Is it procedure to remove this OEM piece and use the supplied blue sleeve?

I have no paper work here so im lost. Even the FFE website doesn't indicate to do so.

its a 34mm injector and even with the rubber bushing removed it still dont want to go down far enough. I know for sure i have the diffuser all the way seated, it feels like it wont go down anymore. I have that blue cap on there and the small rubber bushing on cap barely touches the aluminum housing.

sorry guys, i completely overlooked the portion of there site that indicated that the plastic diffusers and associated spacers have to be removed. I didn't have an issue with the primary diffuser and rubber spacer.

Both injectors require you to remove the stock diffusers and orings. Use a hooked pick and pull them out. Then vacuum out the runners with a shop vac. Empty the vac first and make sure the entire diffuser comes out. Take the oring orr the bottom of each ev14/ID injector as well as the plastic hat and use 2 of the small orings provided by FFE. They have a writeup on their website.

^ That's a great post by Ihor.. I recently did this and my experience was that although all the information is out there, it all seemed to be buried in different threads or in separate places on a web site that I overlooked.

That, and it is much less common for people to be familiar with doing some of these modifications for an FD keeping sequential twins and emissions. I ended up having the choice of ordering the FFE low profile banjo fitting and then buying a bunch of other adapters, etc. to go to the primary rail or modifying the stock vacuum hard-lines that run by the secondary rail (I modified the stock vacuum hard-lines). It's all a learning experience, I guess!

That's true, I ended up keeping the stock primary, FFE secondary with banjo bolt adapter, then deleted the metal vacuum line and ran my own.

Well the ffe website indicates for a 48mm injector used in the primary you only remove the green oring and install the 2 black orings. You only remove the plastic retainer on the secondary for injectors 850 and up I think. Ihor, I emailed you concerning my issue with the missing plastic piece for the primary injectors. Mine wants to slide up and down to much for my liking.

If I remember correctly, they should be able to slide up and down a bit, and they should be able to rotate freely. If your injectors are completrly immobile once installed than something isn't right.

Well the secondarys slide up and down nicely. But the primary injectors travel twice as much, just don't feel right even though I don't have any experience with it. I would say I have about 1/4" travel when I push up and down on them. Everything is installed right; correct spacers and bolts.

I don't have any at the moment on a sequential car. I do have one in a non-sequential car though.
