A few Minor Problems, Help Please!

I have a 93 R1(90k miles, Manual), and it's having some small mechanical issues. Now before I start, I have checked through plenty of threads on this forum and after becoming frustrated, decided to post my own - so here goes.

Idle

My car has stalled a couple of times, never when its cold, and typically when its been running for a little while. It usually happens when I engage the clutch and put it into neutral, or 1st/2nd. It's happened once when I was at a red light, once in my driveway, and once when I was coming off the Interstate. It only started acting this way here in the past couple of weeks and has always run fine other than this. Any ideas? I know it could be a lot of different things - but it sounds to me like a fuel issue, I just don't know where to start in searching for it.

Coolant Sensor

The coolant sensor is always going off, with that emminating 'beeeeeeeeeeeeep'. I have a full tank of coolant, so I imagine the sensor is bad. Where is it, and what do I need to do in order to fix it?

Fuel Filter

This might have something to do with the stalling problems - but I contacted the original owner a few nights ago and he suggested that he doesn't remember the last time the fuel filter was changed, only that it was. Is there a good place I could order one online, instead of having to pay the ridiculous $100+ for one from a dealer? Something some of you guys trust and use.

I appreciate all of you who to reply to this - you'll be doing me a huge favor. Thanks.

I cant answer your question about the fuel filter fully cause Ive never had to change mine yet. But for your idle...does it seem to be in a good range most of the time when its just sitting there? It should be around 800 or so...If its not, just adjust it using the screw on the throttle body. Then, the coolant sensor is on the coolant filler neck. On the front side, down about 5inches or so. It has a black wire comming out of it. These do go bad every once in a while, so theres a good chance thats it. Good luck.

If it runs fine at open throttle but stalls at idle it probably is not your fuel filter. I would change it anyway since you don't know how many miles are on it but don't look to that to solve your problem. Rotary Performance has them for $25.00.

Most likely, the clutch switch. Check this thread:

First, where are you checking the coolant level from? Are you checking the overflow tank or the filler neck? Check the filler neck (of course, not while the car is hot):

If the coolant is not near the top of the filler neck, then that's the problem (and may be a much bigger problem).

If coolant is at near the top of the filler neck, check to make sure the wire is not damaged to the level sensor. The level sensor is on the front of the t-stat housing below the filler neck cap.
